Turn Off Picture Password

Hello Friends, this blog containing simple steps to turn off picture password. Picture password is a very useful feature with Windows 10 machines. Those people understand very well the importance of this feature who usually forget their password. If you have forgot your password then picture password can help you to get access of your machine or operating system. Picture password allows you to click over 3 locations on your selected picture and then log you into machine after clicking on correct points.

How To Turn Off Picture Password

Please follow the below steps to configure this.

First of all, open Group Policy Management Console and then create a new GPO. Freshers can follow link How To Open Group Policy Management ConsoleNow Group Policy Editor is ready to use.

Now, it’s time to configure Group Policy. Right click on this GPO, select “Edit” option displaying on it and go to the below path:

Computer Configuration–> Administrative Template–> System–> Logon

Once reach on above path, on right hand side search for “Turn off picture password sign-in”. Double click on it and select the option as per your requirement. This policy setting controls whether a domain user account can sign into Windows machine using a picture password or not.

If you enable this policy setting, picture password option is disabled for the domain user and can not sign into Windows with a picture password.

If you disable or don’t configure this policy setting, a domain user can set up and sign-in using a picture password.

Note that the user’s domain password will be cached in the system vault when using this feature.
