Hello Friends, today again here for you obviously with one more problem and it’s solution. I faced one issue which I am going to share with you all. This issue is related to Auto Login stopped working. There was specific account which used to log into machine automatically once system starts. No manual intervention was required for this and it was configured through Group policy.
Auto Login Not Working For Specific Account
Issue : Actually, got an issue that specific user is not able to log into computer automatically. I checked all the settings and everything was normal as it should be. Also checked from Group Policy perspective but that was also seems perfectly fine.
Cause : Ran the command “gpresult /r” and checked all the Group Policies showing on the screen. The result of this command shows the information about what policies are getting applied and what are filtering out due to some reason(s). In this result I saw one GPO which was responsible for disabling TLS 1.0 and enabling TLS 1.1 & 1.2 in IE properties. Also it was enabling TLS 1.1 & 1.2 from system registry. This was the policy which was creating problem and because of that auto login stopped working. This policy was machine based policy and getting applied on few of machines.
Solution : Immediately removed these machines from this Group Policy, ran gpupdate /force and rebooted the computers. Thereafter, specific account was able to login automatically to the machines after system starts and for this no manual intervention was required.
